Most Popular Wedding Dates for 2026 & 2027 | Weddings by Wendi

Choosing your wedding date is one of the first decisions you’ll make — and one of the most important. After coordinating hundreds of weddings across Texas Hill Country, I’ve seen firsthand how the right date shapes everything: the weather, your venue options, vendor availability, and whether your guests can actually be there.

These are the dates couples are asking about most right now, along with honest guidance on what each one means for a Texas wedding.

Most Popular Wedding Dates for 2026

2026 has some genuinely exciting dates. The numerically satisfying ones always book fastest — couples love a date that looks beautiful on an invitation. But Texas weather and Hill Country availability matter just as much as how a date looks on paper.

10/10/26 — October 10, 2026 (Saturday)

A Saturday in peak Hill Country fall season. October is arguably the best month for an outdoor Texas wedding — the summer heat has broken, the light is golden, and the landscape is at its most beautiful. This will be one of the most requested dates of the year. Book your venue and vendors at least 14–18 months out.

4/4/26 — April 4, 2026 (Saturday)

A Saturday in prime bluebonnet season. If you’ve dreamed of Hill Country wildflowers as your backdrop, early April is the window. Weather is mild, the landscape is stunning, and this date has the added appeal of being numerically memorable. Expect high competition — this is one of the most sought-after weekends of the year.

2/14/26 — February 14, 2026 (Saturday)

Valentine’s Day falls on a Saturday in 2026 — which is rare. This is consistently the most popular date for elopements and intimate ceremonies. February in Hill Country is mild and often beautiful. If you’re planning a small, intentional wedding, this date is hard to beat.

5/16/26 — May 16, 2026 (Saturday)

A Saturday in mid-May, right before Texas summer heat arrives in force. Mornings are still cool enough for outdoor ceremonies, evenings are warm and lovely. One of the most comfortable months for an outdoor Hill Country wedding, with better availability than April.

9/19/26 — September 19, 2026 (Saturday)

September is the shoulder season for Texas Hill Country — summer heat is passing but the fall crowds haven’t arrived yet. You’ll often find better venue availability and more flexible vendor schedules than October, with nearly identical weather by mid-month.

6/6/26 — June 6, 2026 (Saturday)

Numerically satisfying and popular nationally. In Texas, June means heat is arriving — plan for an early morning or late afternoon ceremony if you choose this date. Venues with shade and good airflow are essential.

11/7/26 — November 7, 2026 (Saturday)

A Saturday in early November. A strong alternative if October dates are already booked when you start planning. The Hill Country is still gorgeous, temperatures are ideal, and venues are more likely to have availability.

7/7/26 — July 7, 2026 (Tuesday)

Falls on a Tuesday, which makes it best suited for an intimate elopement or micro-wedding. Weekday weddings on numerically significant dates are a growing trend — venues and vendors are far more available, and pricing is typically lower.

8/8/26 — August 8, 2026 (Saturday)

A Saturday. August in Texas is hot — there’s no getting around it. Couples who embrace the summer and plan accordingly (shaded ceremonies, late afternoon timing, excellent climate control for the reception) can have a beautiful wedding on a date that has real meaning to them.

12/12/26 — December 12, 2026 (Saturday)

December weddings have a magic to them — twinkling lights, cooler temperatures, and guests who are already in a celebratory mood. Save-the-dates are essential since some guests will have competing holiday travel plans.

Most Popular Wedding Dates for 2027

If you’re planning ahead for 2027, you’re making a smart move. Booking 18 months or more in advance gives you access to every venue and vendor on your list. These are the 2027 dates already generating the most enquiries.

10/9/27 — October 9, 2027 (Saturday)

A Saturday in peak fall. October Saturdays in Hill Country book faster than almost any other date combination. If this is your dream date, start reaching out to venues as soon as possible — 18 months out is not too early.

4/17/27 — April 17, 2027 (Saturday)

A Saturday in wildflower season. Hill Country in mid-April is breathtaking. If you want bluebonnets in your photos, aim for the first three weeks of April. This will be one of the most competitive weekends of 2027.

7/7/27 — July 7, 2027 (Wednesday)

Falls on a Wednesday, making it ideal for an elopement or intimate ceremony. The most numerically satisfying date of 2027 — for couples who love the number 7 or have a personal connection to this date, a weekday wedding makes it accessible without sacrificing meaning.

5/15/27 — May 15, 2027 (Friday)

A Friday in prime spring season. Close enough to a weekend that guests can plan around it, with better venue availability than Saturday. Friday weddings with a Saturday morning brunch have become one of the most popular formats for couples who want the full celebration without the Saturday pricing premium.

7/17/27 — July 17, 2027 (Saturday)

A Saturday in July. For couples who love the number 7 and need a Saturday, this is your date. Plan for the Texas summer heat with late afternoon ceremonies and well-cooled reception spaces.

9/18/27 — September 18, 2027 (Friday)

A Friday in early fall shoulder season. Cooler temperatures are arriving, summer crowds have thinned, and Friday venues are typically available at a lower rate than Saturdays. Guests get a long weekend.

6/5/27 — June 5, 2027 (Friday)

A Friday in early summer before peak heat sets in. June in Hill Country can be beautiful if you time your ceremony for early morning or early evening. Friday availability is generally much better than Saturday in June.

11/6/27 — November 6, 2027 (Saturday)

A Saturday in early November. A beautiful alternative to October for couples who want fall weather without the peak competition. Venues are more likely to have availability and vendors have more flexibility.

Texas Hill Country Wedding Seasons

Not sure which season is right for you? Here is how the year breaks down for Hill Country weddings.

Peak Spring (April – May): Mild weather, wildflowers, occasional storms. Very high demand — book 12–18 months out.

Summer (June – August): Hot (95–105°F). Plan for shade, timing, and climate control. Lower demand means better venue availability and pricing.

Shoulder Fall (September): Cooling down, still warm evenings. Moderate demand and good value. Nearly as beautiful as October with less competition.

Peak Fall (October – early November): Ideal temperatures (65–80°F), golden light, highest demand. Book 14–18 months out for the best Saturdays.

Winter (December – February): Cool to cold, occasionally stunning. Lowest demand and best pricing. The most popular time of year for elopements and micro-weddings.

Early Spring (March): Unpredictable weather but can be beautiful. Bluebonnets typically arrive in late March. Moderate demand.

How to Choose Your Wedding Date

Start with your venue

Your venue’s availability will shape everything else. The best dates at the best Hill Country venues go fast. Before you fall in love with a specific date, check whether your top venue has it open. If they don’t, their next available Saturday in the same season is usually your real starting point.

Consider your guest list geography

If you’re expecting guests from out of state, avoid major holiday weekends where flights are expensive and hotels are fully booked. If most guests are local, a long weekend date gives out-of-towners more flexibility to make the trip.

Weather is the wildcard

Texas weather can surprise you in any month, but the probability of a perfect outdoor day is highest in April through May and October through early November. For any other time of year, have a weather contingency in place.

Your anniversary date matters more than you think

Ten years from now, your anniversary is what you will celebrate — not a numerically trending date from when you were planning. If a specific date has personal meaning to you and your partner, that will always outweigh how it looks on paper.

Vendor availability follows the same calendar as venues

The best photographers, florists, caterers, and coordinators in Hill Country book up on the same timeline as venues. Once you have your date and venue confirmed, reach out to your other vendors immediately.

Frequently Asked Questions About Wedding Dates

What is the most popular wedding month in Texas?

October is consistently the most popular wedding month in Texas Hill Country. The weather is reliably beautiful, the landscape is golden, and couples rate fall Hill Country weddings as some of the most visually stunning. April and May are close seconds due to wildflower season.

How far in advance should I book a Texas Hill Country wedding?

For October and April Saturdays, 14–18 months in advance is not too early — especially at the most sought-after venues. For other times of year, 10–12 months is usually sufficient. For elopements and micro-weddings, timelines are more flexible.

Are weekday weddings worth considering?

Absolutely — especially if you have your heart set on a specific date that falls mid-week. Weekday weddings typically come with lower venue rates, better vendor availability, and a more intimate atmosphere. For couples with smaller guest lists or flexible guests, a meaningful Tuesday or Thursday wedding can be just as special as a Saturday.

What if my preferred date is already booked?

Ask your venue for their next available Saturday in the same season. Alternatively, consider a Friday or Sunday — both are increasingly popular and offer real pricing advantages. A Friday wedding with a Saturday brunch the next morning has become one of my favorite formats for couples who want the full celebration experience.

Do numerically significant dates really matter?

They matter as much as you want them to. Some couples feel strongly about a date that looks beautiful on their invitations and anniversary cards. Others care only about the season and the day of the week. What I always tell couples: choose a date you will love saying out loud for the rest of your lives.

When should I apply for my Texas marriage license?

Apply 3–4 weeks before your wedding date. Texas requires a 72-hour waiting period after the license is issued before you can legally marry, and the license is valid for 90 days. For full details on requirements and county clerk locations, see our Texas marriage license guide.

Wendi was an angel sent from the heavens. I was planning my baby shower and talking to some people who didn't seem reliable. So I was on the hunt for someone I could count on to make my baby shower dreams come true. That is when I came across Weddings by Wendi on my feed and sent her a message. She was quick to respond, provide examples, give her intake and expertise feedback. I have full trust in her and did not stress at all, and boy did she give a beautiful backdrop frame, table set up, and flower centerpieces. I am in awe and will be booking with Wendi again sometime in the future. I highly recommend!

I don’t even know where to start. Wendy has truly become a close family member. She made this wedding possible and rescued us when other vendors/venues failed us. South Padre Island should look at Wendy’s quick thinking, organizing, and management skills as a reference. She is South Padre Island. She is the Anna Wintour of weddings planning. Wendy is a blessing and a gift. She made my wife’s wedding perfect and impeccable communication skills and commitment. I can write a whole novel about Wendy and the experience we had with her. She’s truly amazing. Also her prices are more than fair. She does this because she loves it. Also Martin is a fantastic!! Amazing photographer.

I had never been to South Padre Island and my husband had only been one other time. Neither of us really knew what to expect, but we didn’t expect what we got!! Our guests loved the experience and we’ve had several tell us it was the best wedding they’ve been to!

I will recommend Wendi to my dying breath. She is amazing 🤩
